A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to non-existent addresses under the same domain name. For example, a message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can receive messages from friends or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at some moment you may begin receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting
In case you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a shared website hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section comes with quite a few functions, but it’s amazingly easy to use, so configuring a catch-all mailbox takes only one mouse click. All the email addresses that you have created will be enumerated in this section in alphabetical order and you will only need to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the respective address. Our system will notify you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either turn off the latter feature or select some other mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as easy and requires yet another click on the very same button.
